The Internet's New Age for Language


The English-language no longer has a monopoly on the Internet. Now, it's possible to use characters from other global languages - such as Arabic (shown in image above) Chinese, Korean and Japanese - for a full Internet address (instead of partial web addresses). Of the 1.6 billion Internet users today worldwide, more than half use languages that have scripts that are not Latin-based (such as English and Spanish).
