Florida Keys: Selling Internationally

  • Spending more on International Marketing
  • Promoting free-trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea
  • Focusing attention on Florida's No. 1 export market, Brazil, followed by emerging markets in Asia and Latin America

Asia's Spending Spree

Asian consumers are expected to go on a shopping spree and drive global economic growth over the next four years. This will provide major sales opportunities for U.S. companies serving these emerging markets. Through 2014, China's consumer spending is projected to grow 248%, India's 163%, compared with 35% in the U.S. In other words, the world's booming markets are outside of the U.S.

  • The Balkans region, in southeastern Europe, is enjoying "strong growth," Goddard says.
