
Global thieves are itching to steal your client lists, trade secrets and technology. But there are important steps your company can take to protect intellectual property when doing business overseas, says Ed Barr, director of Marip International LLC. Ed, who visited World Trade Center Orlando, offered the following tips:
Run background checks on potential employees to avoid hiring dishonest workers; Never leave important documents or laptops in foreign hotels, where they can be stolen; Be reserved when chatting at global trade shows with people who may actually be corporate spies in disguise.
